New Handicap Railing at the Vedder Research Library

Along the walkway to the Vedder Research Library, there is a new sturdy colonial-style railing with an attached handrail that meets American Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements. Completed last fall, it will provide support for everyone entering the Library, just in time for slippery weather. A grant from Fenimore Asset Management helped build the ramp but the remaining funding for the 102-foot handrail was borrowed from the GCHS reserve fund and needs to be paid back. Would you consider donating? We need to raise a total of $5,300. A contribution of $71.50 would pay for one foot of the handrail. For a donation of $600, which would cover an 8-foot section, we would add a plaque honoring or memorializing an individual/family of your choice. Any and all contributions are appreciated and may be made by check or credit card. Please make out checks to Greene County Historical Society and mail to GCHS, Box 44, Coxsackie, NY 12051 - include in memo section that the donation is for the VRL Handicap Railing.
